Commentary:
The positive handling course covers the difficult subject of behaviour management techniques. These techniques include psychological and physical interventions that are non pain based, and can be safely applied to children and young adults.
This programme has been successfully run for various local authorities in children’s and foster care settings. It includes the role of risk assessments and emphasises that physical interventions are at the end of the intervention spectrum. The programme is ran over 2 Days 10am – 2.30 pm to accommodate child arrangements.
