Manual Handling of Objects (4 hrs)
Aims:
To train participants in safe manual handling of objects.
Objectives:
- Examine legal framework and its relevance
- Look at methods of safe manual handling
- Examine structure of the spine and its care
- Explore the risk assessment process
- Practice and demonstrate safe lifting techniques
Target Audience:
This course is for candidates who are involved in the lifting, handling and moving of objects in their work roles.

Commentary:
This is a 3 hr course covers the mandatory requirements for basic lifting and handling of objects. The Course gives an overview of relevant legislation, and a practical assessment of candidates carrying out a safe lift, utilising correct manual handling techniques.
