Drug Awareness
Aims:
To develop participants awareness in recognizing illicit drug types and associated behaviours.
Objectives:
- Understand the signs and symptoms of drug types
- Recognise the different types of drugs
- Explore drug legislation
- Examine drug litter and paraphernalia
Target Audience:
This course is designed for anyone who may encounter illicit drugs in their working environment. It will increase participants awareness and confidence levels and enable them to more effectively intervene and respond to illicit drug use situations at work.

- Signs and Symptoms of drug use
- Psychology of addiction
- Legislation
- Paraphernalia
- Risk assessments and Health and Safety
- Talking to someone in a drug state
- Responding to addiction
- Evaluations and endings
Commentary:
The course covers basic drug awareness, and explores drug paraphernalia and placebos. Candidates will be able to examine a range of common illicit drugs and look at home office figures on drug use nationally in order to explore the scope of the problem.
