First Aid at Work (3 day)

Aims:

To train participants to the HSE first aid at work standards.

Objectives:

  • How to respond in an emergency
  • Learn CPR
  • Importance of the recovery position
  • Treat major and minor conditions

Target Audience:

This course is approved by the HSE to qualify the candidates to full First Aid at Work status. It is for anyone who needs to treat casualties in the workplace. The course lasts for 3 full days (18 hrs) and meets all the requirements of the Health and safety (first aid at work) regulations 1981.

  • Legal duties / Responsibilities
  • Assessing casualties
  • Recovery position
  • UK resuscitation council guidelines
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Epilepsy and Seizures
  • Asthma , Choking
  • Diabetes
  • Burns , Bandages and dressings
  • Heatstroke ,Hyperthermia
  • End Assessment

Commentary:

The First Aid at work course qualifies the candidate to the full HSE approved standard. Delivered by highly experienced trainers in line with the first aid at work regulations 1981, it is valid for 3 years. All candidates are independently assessed by a nominated assessor upon completion and must pass assessments in order to gain a certificate.
