Individual Budget (IB) Training for Social Care Staff

To train staff on the individual budget assessment process.

Target Audience:

This is for staff who are required to assess individual budgets and formulate support plans, or for those staff who may support individual budget holders.

Course Content:

  • Personalisation agenda
  • 4 domains of social care
  • National picture for IB’s
  • Principles of assessment – person centred way
  • Completed an assessment questionnaire (AQ)
  • Calculating resource allocation system and FACS banding
  • Indentifying outcomes
  • Completing a support plan
  • Reviews and the IB process


This course usual runs over 3 days, with a 1 day introduction to the IB and personalisation agenda, followed by 2 day of working through the process with examples, completing an AQ, support plan and looking at other issues that apply.
