Aims:
To provide an overview of the enablement agenda.

Target Audience:
For staff who need to be working in a enabling way, a look at how that is different and the skills required to enables individuals to improve their skills.
Course Content:
- Enablement- the national picture
- review the personalisation agenda, describe your responsibilities- tax, insurance etc
- why change- the demographic case
- What does enablement look like?
- Facilitation and support skills
- Signposting to resources available
- Role of Occupational therapist and specialist assessments
- Understanding a system of work and reporting and recording measures
- Role of assistive technology
- Enablement and capacity- positive risk taking
Commentary:
This course allows an understanding of the enablement agenda, provides staff with the ability to see enablement in action, using case studies and video examples. As well developing the skills to work in an enablement way.
