Aims:

To develop participants skills and confidence in completing clinical risk assessments utilizing the Sainsbury risk assessment model.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for anyone who may be required to complete clinical risk assessments in their working environment. It will increase participant’s awareness and confidence levels and enable them to more effectively complete and understand the clinical risk assessment process at work.

Commentary:

The course covers a wide range of topics and aims to develop participants ability to conduct clinical risk assessments. It involves participants practicing risk assessments within a small group setting, and uses a number of case studies to practice risk assessments. It also involves discussion around the issues of assessment including the role of instinct and issues of reliability and validity in the assessment process.
