Working with Forensic Clients
Aims:
To give participants a basic understanding of forensic clients.
Objectives:
- Explore what forensic means
- Understand differences in working with forensic clients
- Examine the legal status of forensic clients within the justice system and 1983 Mental Health Act
- Introduction to dual diagnosis clients

This course will greatly benefit anyone who may encounter forensic clients with mental health issues, as well as people who have an interest in this area.

Commentary:
This course is designed for those who have little experience in forensic psychiatry, and who wish to develop their understanding and skills. It will enable participants to have a greater understanding of forensic constraints, as well as exploring dual diagnosis and the effects that this has on the client and care provided. An overview of legal status and constraints is also examined.
